Modesto Dairy Supply specialized in selling consumables and farm supplies to dairy producers in Northern California. Leveraging its strength in the equipment sector, Modesto Dairy Supply evolved from a small operation into a comprehensive dairy service business, establishing a solid foundation with the DeLaval offering.

This foundation allowed the company to grow throughout the 2000s in North Central California. In 2009, Ryan Calistro took over leadership with a vision to expand and better serve the dairy industry. He began by strengthening the foundation to position Modesto Dairy Supply for future growth.

In 2012, the company expanded by acquiring an Arizona dealership, building the business on principles of excellent service, greater care, and harder work for dairy producers. Large installations became a more consistent offering when Jake DeWitt joined as a partner in 2016. With a consistent customer-first mindset, Modesto Dairy Supply eventually became the largest dealership in North America.

In 2020, Modesto Dairy Supply expands to better support the needs of dairies by establishing a centralized model where combined efforts could bring more efficiency to support a sustainable future for our customers.

After a few more years of growth, the next opportunity presented itself. The Dairy Solutions Groups was formed in 2023 and acquired Arizona, California and Idaho locations that will focus on improving the offering in these markets.

Standard Nutrition Company, the majority owner in The Dairy Solutions Group, plans to take what has been established as a strong dairy equipment provider to the next level. With the rapid growth and demands of the industry, leaning on an established organization such as Standard, along with its subsidiaries such as Dairy Specialists, provides the network needed to take the business forward.

As technology advances and external pressures increase, The Dairy Solutions Group helps dairy producers enhance their operations through the use of robotic milking and other advanced technologies and services.

Whether that’s new feeding technology, milking technology, or sustainable solutions for the dairy industry involving alternative power sources or anaerobic digesters, we are evaluating what resources can make an impact on a dairy’s operations. With our supplier network and relationship with Standard Nutrition Company, we are well-positioned to continue to be a part of that success into the future.
